Who submits the certificate of completion to the court?

Each court will have its own requirements. You will be notified during registration who is responsible for delivery of the certificate. Only a select few courts still accept certificates directly from us. Most courts require your signature, so we must forward them to you.

Why are there questions on the quizzes and final exam that don't relate to traffic safety?

Some courts require that we hide unrelated text and questions in our online traffic school course material to ensure the reader is actually reading the text. It is a small form of security the court mandates we take. We understand they can be troublesome, but all traffic schools are required to take this same security measure.

What do I do if I don't know the answers to the security questions I provided during sign up?

Before each section some courts require that you properly identify yourself with a series of responses to questions we gathered during sign up. While you are logged in to the online traffic school program you may be asked these questions from time to time. If you don't know the answers to the questions you can enter an email address and drivers license number. If these two pieces of information match we will email you the answers you provided during sign up.

I just received a ticket, can I go to online traffic school already or should I wait?

You should wait until you receive your information from the court. You may use the online traffic school program if you are in hurry but it is always safer to wait until the court has processed your ticket.

All courts collect an "administration fee" at the window. This does not pay for online traffic school. You will have to pay any traffic school you attend. We charge $19.95 for most counties.

What do I do if I don't see Gotaticket.com on the list the court provided me?

Many courts provide a list of approved online traffic schools. You may begin the registration process to verify if your court accepts us or not, Just click on "Sign Up Now" from the home page.

If we do not have a formal agreement with your court at this time, some courts may give special permission to take a particular course by simply asking if your court requires that the online traffic school be DMV approved. Please know that the California DMV only approves walk-in traffic schools. Each court is authorized to decide for itself whether to accept any "home study" programs, which usually includes Internet based or online programs.

What is the procedure to request a refund?

If you will be unable to complete the online traffic school course before your due date and think you might need to cancel your registration, you may want to contact your court to see about getting an extension before giving up. Remember that we do have express mail options and many courts do not mention they will accept postmarks or offer grace periods. In addition, you may want to ask the court if they will accept a faxed copy of your certificate until the original is received.

In the event that you will be unable to finish the online traffic school program, we will refund your payment in full if you have not begun any sections or quizzes. If you have passed, started, or attempted section quizzes or the final exam you will not be eligible for a refund.

If you have not paid and would like to cancel your registration you do not need to contact us. You will never be billed and your registration will be deleted automatically.

Any and all refunds granted will be credited using the same form of payment that was used at the time of the original payment processing. Only the same credit card used will be refunded. Personal checks and money orders will be refunded by company check.

How many sections (chapters) and quizzes are there in the program?

Each court will vary on requirements. However all courts will require at minimum driver improvement material and quizzes. Generally 5 chapters with a final exam. The Gotaticket.com Online Traffic School Program offers 5 chapters with a final exam.

Are my quizzes and final exam scored immediately?

In most cases yes, in some counties there is a slight delay. We will keep you up to date at all times via the website and email. Please note that if you are taking the online third party exam, your final exam results will still post online and via email. You will need to check your email account for a notice from the third party giving you your results if you did not see them displayed when your final exam was graded. (At this time third party exams are mandated for the following counties in California: Butte, Napa, Riverside, Mariposa, Santa Cruz, Stanislaus, Del Norte, Solano, Sierra, Contra Costa and Lassen.)
